AYC Boxing Day Barrel Race
Hello Sailors
AYC wishes to remind you of its annual Boxing Day Race (The Barrel) on 26/Dec/2025, now in its 10 edition. This race was formally a part of the Christmas Hightide Series but is now a well-established standalone race in the Yacht Club Calendar. All are welcome.
The intent of this event is to be a longer race, to Curtain Bluff and back, rather than the usual short sprint around the buoys , to encourage spinnaker racing, although there will be a very competitive non spinnaker class also. The present holder of the Barrel trophy is Josh Bailey with his yacht “Gypsy”. He invites all-comers to try to wrest this trophy from him.
Come out on Boxing Day and blow the Christmas cobwebs away with some great sailing and camaraderie.
Party and get together at AYC afterwards.
